I was born in 1961 and took my first tennis qualification while still at high school and achieved a further
qualification while at teacher training college. Qualified as a Physical Education specialist and History teacher.
Then took degrees in History and Philisophy and left to seek new adventures in the U.K. in 1989.
After a short while I started teaching tennis and my work really took off and I taught started to coach in
Holland, Germany and Spain. I then taught for four years in Portugal, while also studying for a Psychology degree.
In 1996 I was appointed head coach to Cambridge Lawn Tennis Club. During my time there the junior membership
increased by 400% and adult memberships increased to near capacity.
Since then I have taken further quailifcations from two of the worlds largest and most
active teaching organisations, the USPTA and USPTR. And also a qualification from
the Czech Republic, due to their fantastic tennis tradition.
In 1999 I gained a diploma in Sports Psychology.
I am also a member of the United States Racket Stringers Association (USRSA), the premier racket stringers
organisation in the world.
